This website gives teachers resources and materials to better teach history content. This includes teaching materials, website reviews, lesson reviews, ways to think like a historian, and more!
Smithsonian's History Explorer has many resources for teaching and learning history. There's lesson and activities, interactives, media, artifacts, books, and theme ideas.
Each unit on the website begins with a mystery that introduces historical inquiry skills. There are about three mysteries that build skills and content as they proceed. Each mystery emphasizes vocabulary, historical content, and investigation. All mysteries have a slideshow, handouts, a lesson plan, and teacher resources.
